A man is nursing serious injuries at the Ejura government hospital after
his right hand was chopped off by some colleagues of his.
The 25-year-old man was attacked on Thursday morning according to
reports. The incident which happened at the town's World Vision forest
has left residents traumatised.
Investigations are underway as police try to ascertain what might have warranted the attack.
The victim, Buba Omaru, was heard screaming in the forest at midnight on
Wednesday August 15 at about 11pm. His continuous yelling compelled
some residents to search to trace the source of the screams till he was
discovered and rushed to the Ejura government hospital.
Doctors say Buba was in extreme pain when he arrived at the health
facility and could not give a vivid account events as they happened.
Medical superintendent at the Ejura government hospital, Dr. Mensah
Manye, speaking to Ghanaweb narrated how he had to rush back to attend
to the patient after receiving a call from the emergency unit at about
1.am Thursday.
"I went back; saw the man's hand chopped off and he was in pain." He explained.
The victim is still being interrogated to establish the cause of the incident.

Buba is however getting better since his admission at the facility but
the chopped off hand was not viable according to doctors and needed to
be buried to avoid decay.
