One, Patience Osafo was assaulted and battered by the armed police officer at the banking hall where she had gone to cash her savings.
The police officer, Lance Corporal Frederick Amanor, got physical after Madam Osafo refused to leave the banking hall with her grandchild because her money had not been given to her.
The incident sparked public outrage, drawing condemnation from President Akufo-Addo, Amnesty International, Ghana Bar Association, the Ministry for Gender Children and Social Protection and a number of civil society organizations.
“The new season, complete with new visual graphics reports on the Midlands Savings and Loans Company incident, focuses on lessons to be learnt and the correct role of police guards in private institutions such as banks and other financial institutions,” portions of a statement from the production crew read.
