The body of the late Louise Kofi Maglo, 52, an electrical contractor was being preserved at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital when it went missing.
Some family members were shocked to the marrow when they were told someone else had come for the body of the deceased.
They suspect a brother of the deceased, identified as Anthony Cobla Gotta for being the brain behind the missing corpse.
Nonetheless, the family has been holding a burial service for the corpse which is nowhere to be found.
The widow, Alice Pobie told Adom News’ Kofi Adjei at the funeral grounds at Kasoa Datus in the Awutu Senya Municipality that hes late husband’s family has been accusing her of being behind the death of her husband.
“He threatened to teach me a lesson only for us to get there and be told that he has come for the body. We tried reaching him but several calls didn’t go through. We were told by some family members that he has sent the body to their hometown in Togo,” she cried.
Madam Pobie says the suspect has carried through an earlier threat to steal the body before burial.
“When my late husband died, Anthony kept accusing me of being responsible for his brother’s death even though that is not true. The body was kept at Korle Bu morgue. Ever since my husband’s death, he has been accusing me of being a witch.
Worried Madam Pobie says those she borrowed money from to organize her late husband’s funeral are demanding their monies spent on casket, decoration and printing of flyers.
This she says has compelled the family to use obituary pictures in place of the body to attract mourners who have come in their numbers to mourn the late electrical contractor.
Kofi Adjei reported on Adom News Saturday, the widow and her family are still at the funeral grounds.
He said mourners who come to the grounds are forced to leave because of the absent of the body of the deceased.
